Depends on how deep the scratches are and if they require body work as well. Not to mention the price of the paint used...

Pictures would help in determining if it's something that can be touched up or needs to be repaired/repainted by a professional.

Assuming it's metallic paint, you'll probably end up spending $300+ depending on where you take it. The car will be in the shop for at least 1.5 days (so you may need a rental in the meantime $$$).

the scratches r moderately deep i guess... the bumper is the only part that's damaged and there r no dents... i don't have a pic cause it's not my car (it's the car that i hit)... does anyone know of a place in the gta that charges reasonably? i'm curious to know what the price range is cause i don't wanna get ripped off for being a girl.... any info would be appreciated.

Usually dealerships will charge more than regular Bob's garage. Best thing to do is to get estimates from a number of different places. Once, I had quotes ranging from 350 to 950 to repair a scratch (deep) on a door.

Sh1t happens. Best of luck.

A lot depends on what type of car it is too. Any body shop will tell you that the entire bumper will have to be replaced for safety concerns. The best thing to do is have the other person get at least two quotes from non-dealer shops and advise him that you are willing to pay the lower of the two estimates. I guarantee that the other person will get fed up with the process of dealing with you and will probably report the incident to their insurance company. Then the entire thing will cost you approximately $2,500.00 in increased insurance rates over five years. I suggest giving the person $1,000.00 to get the work done and get the person into a rental.

If it's a Honda, be prepared to pay!

Example: I "bumped" a really big deer (the f'er just got up, looked at me and ran off)Had a small dent in hood, broken headlight assembly, dented quarter panel and scratched bumper.

$2760.00 LATER!!!!

If it's a plastic bumper, it really shouldn't be any more than $150.00. If it's more, take it someplace else.

There are two important things to consider here.... a) can the bumper cover be repaired, b) is the bumper itself damaged.
If the bumper cover can be repaired then you're looking at 3-600 depending on the depth of the scratches and the amount of refinishing required. If the bumper cover cannot be repaired then you're looking at $1,000 - $2,000 for a used bumper cover to be installed and refinished.
If the bumper itself is damaged then you can count on an additionall $1,000 to replace it.

If you have an insurance broker give them a call and ask how much an at fault accident would effect your rates. If that amount is less then the quotes provided by the other party plus the cost of renting them a vehicle during the repair period (they are entitled to this by law) then tell them to go to their own insurance company.

I am an insurance adjuster, if you need any further advise or have questions PM me, I'll be happy to help.
