Re: Re: Any Feedback on "Tiesto in Concert" in Los Angeles (August 20, 2005)?
Hi there, yeah i was there in LA with a friend. I thought this would be a once in a lifetime event for me so i splurged on the VIP tickets at $200 us each.
I have to say the VIP tickets were worth the extra money as when we arrived at the stadium there was a lineup of ticket holders over 500 meters long, and i'm sure most of them did not get in until after the 9pm start. In the VIP lineup we only waited about 4 minutes to go through security etc. We then walked right into the staduim and into the vip lounge where the free hosted bar was located. There was supposed to be a large video monitor in the long but it seemed to be missing. The lounge was very comfortable though, complete with it's own lighting effects. The VIP seating to watch Tiesto was not good however as it was immediatley at the side of the stage and you could not even see the LED stage that is now the Tiesto in Concert trademark. You could however go anywhere it the stadium you wanted to stand/sit so better views were available. For the opening sequence we were able to get within about 30 feet of Tiesto and the Video cameras were filming so maybe some of the concert will appear in a DVD of the concert series.
I'm hopeless at remembering track names but it seemed to me that there were only about 6 tracks that i had heard before and i thought i was a Tiesto addict. Flight 643 and Adiago for strings to name a couple. All the others seemed to be stuff i had never heard before.
The special effects were a bit of a let down as i was expecting the same as wghat was shown in the Tiesto in concert 2003/2004 dvd's. The pyrotechnics/lasers/lighting were far less impressive, but all in all it was a night i will never forget and i'm glad i went. It was only supposed to be for 15,000 people but i would guess there were only about 12,000 there. I'm not sure that we in North america are quite as into Trance/Tiesto as there are in Europe.
This has just given me the interest though to someday go to europe to see him in a large venue and play longer than the 4 hours he played in LA.
Hope this helps and i do have some cell phone pics i can post as soon as i can get them from my friends cellphone. The website said you couldnt take digital cameras in but there were a few i saw.
