I just saw a report that they had to abandon rescue efforts for people in the Super Dome, because the military helicopter was shot at!!!

Haven't heard that. But it would not surprise me considering that people who were taking shelter in the Superdome during the storm left after the storm had passed to go LOOTING.

Tons of coverage there (albeit american, but what else is available)... They did report the shooting at the helicopter... I didn't read into it tho. WTF man, people are trying to save you and you're trying to gun down the rescue mission? argh...

Americans are really messed up ... why would you do this at such a time?

The gov helped you and you took shelter in the SuperDome, and then you guys rushed out to roit and loot things. Even shotdown a helicopter too.

Why rebuild the city, too? Just relocate everyone. It's hurricane central down there! Just like LA.... who builds a city on a fault line!

Americans hold onto their history too much (and Canadians tear it all down... exhibition stadium RIP!)

I was thinking the same thing...

not to sound cold, but I wonder how people defend their ridiculous gun culture now. Congrats, you have your "right to bear arms"...which means so many stores, like Wal-Mart, sell guns. Well now they've all been looted, putting hundreds or thousands more guns into the hands of criminals and even ordinary citizens...with authorities having to abandon search and rescue efforts to curb the roaming bands of thugs...that's terrible.

The lack of basic morality and compassion on the part of some people in these situations is deeply disturbing...

OK, to all you people who are so fond of bashing Americans. Just remember these people are from the SOUTH. Nuff said.
