um if you know what im talking about its where you'll have 3 notes being played evenly over a 4 beat bar.... classical-heads should understand me..
but how do i do it in reason? w/ the matrix sequencer you can tweak the 1/16 - 1/8 whatever thing... but that'll just make your loop faster!

Just below where you see the Tempo it should say Signature and turn
it into 3/4 not 4/4. you must open up the paino roll to see the new grid.

why do you want to record in 3/4 time anyway Patticus??

To the right of the pencil icon in the sequencer there's a drop down menu that let's you pick the grid divisions. If you pick one of the options with a T beside it (i.e. 1/8T) you can do a triplet. You'll still be using a 4/4 signature for the whole track, but you can draw whatever notes you want in triplet.

I think Azzido da bass/doom's night (whatever it's called) uses a triplet for that "waoh...waoh...waoh" sound.

with 16th triplets you can make you hihats "groovy" (like shuffle)

dooms night is one of those tracks where the rhythm gets all screwy in the break... you really cant count the "woah" sounds after they start speeding up and right before hte track breaks loose.... it loses all form of rhythm structure i think.

correct me if im wrong
just dont say it goes into 9/4 or something

does "woah" refer to that flat beat-ish sound, or that other weow-sound (which i thought)?

sorry.. i mean the main "WHOA/WHAO/WOAH/WAOH" sound that the track is known for.. thru-out the entire song.

you can lay that down too with 16th notes...

a nice, easy example is the bassline in 'scott project - overdrive'
