Az_1 : download winamp, go into visualizations and goto advanced bpm counter while the song is playing

its usually pretty accurate

just write it down, or take a mental note and your good to go

dont use a beat counter u are only cheating yourself
learn to do it by ear
yes it takes longer but what if u go to play somewhere and the mixer does not have a beatcounter then u are fucked
lear to listen and u will become a much better dj

I play by ear live, and tend to already know a tunes BPM because of mixmeister, cos usually it's really accurate, but for some reason it says it's only 105 BPM. I've tried 140 BPM and the beats are out of time, and won't mix with anything else
has anyone else had this problem and overcome it??
or know any ultra accurate BPM counters??
I've done the bit where i click space on every beat, but yet again it hasn't worked (that came up at 136.6 bpm)
I haven't got a beat counter on winamp, and I checked the ratings of the available ones on winamp.com and everyone said they sucked so....
any help?!?!

Maybe its because you're not cue-ing the song right, or dropping the song on an off-beat...

i have the song on record, and it really isn't hard to mix using turntables, and i just pitch the song by ear, so i don't know what the bpm is... somewhere around 136-140 i'm guessing...

its really good to learn how to pitch songs without having to calculate bpm's.... souvenir has a pretty straightforward beat.. boom clap boom clap boom clap.. so i really don't know what the trouble could be?

I've got no trouble mixing it live!!!!, I just need an accurate beat count so I can mix it using mixmeister, cos it won't do it unless the beat counts perfect. can anyone help?!?!?

Cool

MixMeister, pff. Go get yourself real DJ software, MixMeister is a sequencer, that's piss weak, mix live, mix true, mix real.

I suggest VTT, Tracktor, PCDJ-Red

Or if you have some dosh, go and get some dex man, you are only cheating yourself using shit like MixMeister.
