Yikes! Those contacts are fcuked. Basically the cartridge isn't connecting to the turntable properly. Think yo might have to get it looked at.

Same thing happened with me.
Have you tried cleaning your contacts? Clean them properly using a soft,wet cloth. Try again. If your existing cartridge dosen't work, try a different cartridge. What you also may try is a cartridge w/ integrated headshell (Shure Whitelabel, any ortofon's).

This may sound dumb, but is the mixer on phono? I've seen this problem many times...also clean the contacts

damn well then i'm going to take it back to the store i got it from, they told me it was fully working, "else we wouldn't be selling it"!

i did try cleaning them with no luck. and replacing the tonearm seems expensive... hopefully I get a refund

maybe its your RCA cables....
when i bought my 1200s off e-bay i had to have mine replaced...
so look into that, its a lot cheaper then having your tonearm replaced

well.. i took it back for a full refund. they were cool about it, very apologetic and said they would try to fix it, and if they do get it fixed they will let me know in case i want to buy it back

did you ground the turntable? the little black wire..

yes it was grounded. i'm not a turntable noob or whatever there was probably a wire disconnected inside of the tonearm.. but i didn't feel like dealing with that.
