Big Ears (Techno/Dark Prog) Mr.Rogers - Canteen ---SAMPLE--

What up, been work'n on a track for the last few weeks, I think this song totally has a style of its own. The mastering and what not are not done to well, tryed to do a quicky myself.
But the tune is unfinished, not sure if something else is needed.
I really like how the song is simple and dark..it kind of carry's itself well so it might not need anything else.
but, u be the judge!

that kick only stays interesting for so long. follow the little break down/build up around 2min with a loud thumpin kick and a fatty clap/snare

that little breakdown / buildup makes you expect more too come out of it. if you dont wanna change the kick, a steady hat coming in right there instead of the one you have would make the buildup sound like it lead up to something important. i hope you know what i mean by 'steady'.. you know the avg Kick Hat Kick Hat type. it would really give the track some momentum.

ya man, i was think'n about adding a harder kick with more variations, but i also like it semi-minimal. So, i'll play around with it.
thanx

Nice minimal tune, reminds me a little of minimal Psy like The Delta, Spirallianz and the likes.
Awesome arrangement of sounds. The kick however needs - as pointed out - a little variation maybe... wicked FX and atmosphere. I really dig that.
I can't fault the production at all, every element is present and well emphasized, like it should be in minimal stuff. Maybe you should consider to add a little more variation. Some little details to discover at a second or third listen maybe...
Gotta say this tune is very original and very well done. Respect for that.

this is quite nice, but is it just me or is the kick panned to the left slightly? might be worth checking out!

i personally quite like the kick, it could perhaps do with some more punch but having said that the bassy percs make up for its lack of punch, throwing the rythm in all sorts of exciting dimensions! really cool!

thanx for the feedback guys, really appreciate it

yeah, i thought i noticed a panning with the kick, but i thought my ears were play'n tricks on me kuz everything was centered, but i'll fix that up.
I'll figure out some sort of rythm to for after the break, but i don't wanna go overboard kuz i wanna keep it a bit min.

thanx guys, i'll let u know if theres an update!

This is some really cool stuff, I will avoid the kick comment but the rets is pretty good, I like those Percusssive sounds u use, they give a really sweet touch, remind me osme of those 80's movie soundtracks .
Keep it up .

Great stuff. I'm only just starting to get into techno and this is quite different to the stuff I've heard previously in that genre.

Extremely restrained production. Love the breakdown at 4.30... very nice.

Cant say I'd change much about anything. With minimal tracks like this, its all about atmospherics and character. Make it too conventional (eg: the kick) and it would just get boring.

Strange production, to me it sounds like a mash up of rhubarb and custard. At the same time, very cool, i like the style. the percussion is cool and simple and the wood block elements work a treat. I like the piano and string stab too. The clap could phatten up after the breaks but not before them if you know what i mean, give the track a chance to build up first.

Great Work,
Keep it up
Terry

this is a crazy song

i like the spacing of the elements and the distorted kick doesn't bother me (i love distortion )

it's awesome when atmospheric elements come in around 4mins or so.

i understand why you want to keep it minimal like this.

good job on doing something different

oh yeah, i like your sig btw

thanx a lot everyone for your feedback, means a lot.
i will def make a little bit of changes for after the breakdown, just enough variation to give it a little kick.
