meets my needs, and comes at around 150 Euro / 180$
just wanted to know if you know of any better/cheaper ones.
OR if there is a similar USB card that one could use with a laptop instead of PCI...not sure how good this works in terms of asio/low latency but I've heard it's supposed to work nowadays. Partly because of the special drivers lile these: http://www.usb-audio.com/
Thanks!

Changed my terratec dmx 6 fire with m-audio audiophile and very happy with it. No more clicking, cracking, strange noises when I record.
afaik there are 2 different "delta audiophile" cars by M-Audio, the 2496 and the newer 192. but both have only 2 analog in-/outputs, not 4 as I want and asked for...so that's not an option

you didn't say analog first time
Anyway, there are 4*4 m-audio cards I think.
would that be better/equal to the Maya? I have very little experience, last soundcard was a terratec Soundsystem DMX which I bought for the digital input which now is on my motherboard

M-Audio are good soundcards you really can relay on. I`ve been working with both Audiophile 24/96, Delta 44 and the extreme Delta1010(a friend of mine uses it). And I must say that neither of these has disapointed me! So i would go for M-Audio, imo.

Presonus Firebox
I know its more expensive buy I recently bought the Presonus firebox (firewire audio interface) I must say the thing is just brillian but more expensiv, the Mic Preamps are so good for the price much better than the M-Box
There is also the new M-Box2 comming out looks great and you get protools and a buttload of plugins so you can then rewire or to protools for mastering: http://www.digidesign.com/products/mbox2/
I reckon your best off waiting and saving for a good audio interface.

mmh, thanks!
but those look a lot like "production" cards, whereas I'm looking for "DJ" cards. I have no use for pro-tools, cubase and the like
