Homo-erotrance

Hi guyz, I'm new to this tranceaddict forum and I just started listening to trance music about a few months ago... I live in the States in a midwest city, so trance isn't really the preferred type of music.....alota people here tend to relate trance or as they like to call it "techno" music with gays and lesbians. I was just wondering if there is any truth to that statement and if trance music has a strong gay following?

You see that pink banner in the top left of the screen? Pretty much sums it all up.

Yes, trance does have a huge gay following. You see all them guys in the clubs with huge glowsticks? Do you know what they do with them glowsticks in the comfort of their own home????

It isnt the preffered type of music, so someone somewhere in the wonderful American Mid-West labels it with what they think is a derogatory term?

I know 2 facts about these people:

1. They know sod all about Electronic Dance Music
2. They know sod all about the Homosexual Community.

ignorance.

I loved telling the black kids in my class that House was invented by a gigantic stocky gay black geeza.

I also loved telling them that Eminem isn't Detroits best musical export.

just when you thought things couldn't get more gay than trance huh?
here's some quality gay stuff

· the remix of owner of a lonely heart
· tracks with "diva" vocals, you know what i mean
· most "regular" house with vocals
· most stuff kanye west has produced
· loads of stuff from the 80's (what were they thinking?)

A lot of people who aren't involved in the EDM community like to call everything within the giant EDM spectrum "techno" - don't really know why. In my experience, the gay crowds tend to like mostly circuit stuff: Thunderpuss, Valentin, stuff on Tommy Boy and Star 69, etc... along with a lot of the poppier euro dance exports: anything by Almighty, ATB, Cascada, DJ Sammy, and the like. Basically, anything for sale on PerfectBeat

It's ironic you should ask that, because if I had to name one EDM scene that's homophobic, it would be... Drum n Bass.

But if I had to name a second EDM scene that's homophobic, I would say trance.

At least insofar as the blockheaded teen male demographic goes, something an internet forum seems to attract in droves.
