Question Allen & Heath Xone 62: Random Information?

So I just ordered an Allen & Heath Xone 62, I'm very, very excited for my very first A&H Mixer... After the first time I touched one, I knew I needed to own one, they just feel like pure sex...

But I did have one question, there was a thread on here once about something regarding "Fader Delay" on the Xone 62... with the search function down now I can't find it, so, I have to ask again, is this an issue on the 62's? And is it easily resolved? Also, beyond that, are there any other unique or interesting (Positive or Negative) things I should know about the mixer you can't really learn from technical schematics?

Thanks for your help kids... Mixer should be here Friday... Me = Excited...

Peace, Cheers,

Rob

Re: Re: Allen & Heath Xone 62: Random Information?

I've actually heard that the A+H 62 has fader delay that's WORSE than the DN-X1500.

EDIT: The Xone may actually have delay in the crossfader... not the channel faders. Regardless, lots of people own them and love them!

Yeah I scoped the Xone 62 forums a few days ago and didn't really find anything all that relevant...

As long as the delay is on the crossfader and not the channel faders, I'm fine, I don't even remember the last time I touched a cross fader...

the dnx1500 has fader delay because it's a digital fader.

the A&H mixers all use analog faders, meaning they have audio signal running thru them.

the other thing is that what some ppl call delay, is actually the kind of curve the fader is set on. if the fader has a logarithmic curve, then it only reacts most near the end of the stroke. This can be changed, by either a curve control or by changing your movements to compensate.

I think too many DJs whine about poor mixing tools, rather than learning all about the technical parts of the gear so as to circumvent so-called "problemed" gear.

No man, no hard feelings at all... I actually agree with you completely on this, I hate DJ's who blame poor performance on equipment, rather than their ignorance of how the equipment works...
