good stuff! i am using 2 rockford power amps myself. lots of power and quite efficient too.

here's my little advice to you, i find that ported boxes are better with hip hop music. you might want to try using sealed boxes sometime down the road for tighter bass when listening to EDM.

ps: if you or your friends need anything car-stereo related, i have LOTS of stuff i'd like to get rid of.

i think he drives a precidia.

if he's tuning the system himself, i'd actually recommend turning his volume knob the highest he can before the speakers distort before adjusting on the amplifiers.

but of course, it all depends. i like my music LOUD and not just the bass. i've tuned stereos for my co-workers before and they didn't like how i tuned it for them. they listen mostly to hip hop though, and therefore they rather hear more bass than the music itself.

for me, i like to tune my stereo to sound close enough as if i was at a party. lots of bass and also lots of highs. refer to my usertext

in reality i should of gotten two 10's in a sealed box for punch factor

as for showing up on location i dont plan on having it loud at all, but probly leaving ill crank it up to make an exit

but yes i dont really need it for RAP/Hip hop so SPL isnt that important, but i do liek to impress

i have an 93' mx-3
the guy did have a system in it so there are some aplines that are like 100 watts, so another amp SHOULD be in there, but im broke now and going to sait so ant happening!

i might get two 10s instead when i go in for some wiring for my cap to save some space in the back

let me know what you got.

it depends on the subs. not every sub sound or act the same. i have heard and used 12 inch subs that are easily as punchy as 10's. its all in the design of the box and what kind of power you run to it.

well i don't have 10 inch subs. i got extra stuff like line drivers, bass EQ, 2 sets of component speakers and a pair of 12" subs that i no longer need. most of the items are either products of phoenix gold or rockford fosgate.

its wiring in series or parallel to change the resistance. the term bridged is used when you want to bridge the left channel with the right channel becoming a mono output.

it is bridge now making it mono although it is at 2 ohms

tomake it 1 ohm they have to be two channels.

but the subs have to be basicly in this way to take that advantage

1 sub / Dual Voice Coil - 2 ohms x 2

The Birth Sheet says this

Rated power : 150 W x2 @ 1 ohm

RMS Watts per channel @ 4 ohms

638 Total RMS @ 2 Ohms <1% THD+N all channels combined

834 RMS Watts @ 1 ohm
(does this mean that at 1 ohm, stereo, i would have basicly 417 per channel? im confused.

to make it 1 ohm, you will need dual 4 ohm subs. not dual 2's.

right now you have a pair of dual 2's which mean you can only either have 2 ohm mono or 8 ohm mono.

according to that birthsheet, at 1 ohm mono, your amp makes a total of 834 watts RMS.

1 ohm stereo is actually equivalent to 2 ohm mono which means you are getting 638 watts RMS x 1 (or 319 watts RMS x 2) and are feeding just that much to your compvr's.
