I've been looking all over and I cant find a bank that allows minors to open checkings account. Are there any banks that allow this?

I had a personal checkings account when I was 17...all that they had on there was "MINOR" on all my statements. But that was in Indiana..it's pretty hick round here..
you should be able to go in open up an account in your name, tied to your parents somehow? Try a credit union?

that probably wouldn't work unless his parents also switched their accounts.

i think bank one allows minors to open accounts ..
that was back then when i was 16.
i don't know about now .. all the new rule changes with the merger with jp morgan chase and everything ..
give it a try .
either that, or try the small local banks ( in louisiana, it is hibernia and hancock bank) ... they probably allow minors to open accounts.
if not, then buy a safe.

One big tip from an adult: Parents are the best bank there is.
I remember the first two weeks I turned 18 and could get a grip on my saved money. The money flew away.

see but a credit union isn't going to let in a 16 yr old unless their parents are also a member...
