Loveparade San Francisco

We regret to inform you that Paul van Dyk will not be able to perform at Love Parade San Francisco because the float he had been scheduled to perform on was cancelled on short notice due to circumstances beyond Paul's control.

Paul is very disappointed by this result; he has been a supporter of and participant in the original Love Parade in Berlin for many years and he hopes to be in a position to perform at Love Parade San Francisco next year.Paul will be in San Francisco on Saturday and will perform at 1015 as planned.

That's not really an informative press release. I mean, it doesn't really say anything about what happened. Also, PAM didn't have anything on their site as of an hour ago. I have friends who were travelling from NYC to SF for this and while they'll still have a blast, I'm sure they're disappointed that entire PAM DJs lineup won't be there.

It'd be nice if there were some more info available rather than the rumors, but it doesn't look like we're going to get any.

BTW, Max Graham's site still lists him as playing tomorrow at Love Parade. Guess they should update that for the people who want to see him and don't know about this.

Well, I will say that after some things I've heard in the past 30 minutes, I do belive that it wasn't PvD's choice in the end...which sucks even more!

Damn turncoats. If PvD DID drop out for the money, he isn't going to say it.

You really need to stop with the money thing. It doesn't cost anything to watch the parade. It's 5 dollar donation to get into the Plaza and he was never supposed to spin there so enough already.

Eh, a large part of this WHOLE issue is my fault in that I explained something that I heard before getting the WHOLE story. The whole story being just a lot more of what I heard.

Then that got taken and blown way out of proportion...not that I didn't help blow it way out of proportion...I guess I did.

Anyhow, in the end after speaking with even more parties, I think it's pretty clear that the \pullout was not completely PvD's or his wife's hands, so I apologize for making it sound like the sole reason.

The thread wasn't mine, and yes it was deleted. But not in order to cover my George Bush-like post up, but rather to prevent making it only look like one party was the reason behind the pullout, when there was more to it.

Hopefully this episode passes and we can just move along. I'll say one thing though...man, I'll be sure to keep my mouth shut in the future. Lesson learned. OI!
