Abu Ghraib just won't go away

Because a judge once again orders the release of these photos by the Administration:

quote:
Saying the United States "does not surrender to blackmail," a judge ruled Thursday that pictures of detainee abuse at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison must be released over government claims that they could damage America's image.

U.S. District Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein ordered the release of certain pictures in a 50-page decision that said terrorists in Iraq and Afghanistan have proven they "do not need pretexts for their barbarism."

They've been sitting on these for awhile. There's much to be told not just by these pictures, but the videos as well:

quote:
In the same period, reporter Seymour Hersh, who helped uncover the scandal, said in a speech before an ACLU convention: "Some of the worse that happened that you don't know about, ok? Videos, there are women there. Some of you may have read they were passing letters, communications out to their men ... . The women were passing messages saying 'Please come and kill me, because of what's happened.'

"Basically what happened is that those women who were arrested with young boys/children in cases that have been recorded. The boys were sodomized with the cameras rolling. The worst about all of them is the soundtrack of the boys shrieking that your government has. They are in total terror it's going to come out."

This is how you create terrorists, by imposing horrific injustices on a people. The Iraqi's really didn't have anything against America before this bullshit War, I can't say that true anymore for atleast some of these people anymore. Congradulation on your efforts to "combat terrorism."

Slightly off topic, but it's good to see what I assume to be a Jewish judge (Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein) supporting freedom of information, especially about something that is liable to support Muslim views. At least the world isn't as corrupt as I believe.

Call it what you want, this is a political discussion board, i'm fed up with people judging Jews and Muslims as far right activists only serving their own causes, i'm merely trying to point out that it's good to see that such views are pathetic in this age and have no base in reality.
