i dont think that mixer is a battle mixer, although it could be used as one. I personally think that mixer is well laid out, and the quality is top notch. If you are getting it for a good price, go for it. I have a djm-600 , and would take either one of these mixers.

problems with x1500?
Hey,
well i'm gonna use it for trance (duh!) but also a lot of house and progressive... very little hiphop, although i do like to scratch a little when i'm bored.
That said, .. there used to be problems with the 1500 having a 'digital delay' with the faders.. but i heard this has been fixed? Is that true?
I'm guessing that the x1500 is a good choice, given my preference to trance and house, vs. hiphop/jungle, which requires more fast fader work (where an analog fader would be more responsive)??

Hey, I got a 1500 aswell, its a killer ALL ROUND MIXER, it wasn't made for one specific type of DJing, it was made to cover it all, it sounds awesome and feels great, when I got mine, I got a demo one first as they had to order me a new one, so I decided to test the shit out of the mixer, lets just say I put it threw situations a DJ wouldn't face and the mixer came out laughing, I've had no problems at all in the time I've owned it (about a year now), and would highly recommend it to anyone, as for the delay, the fix that came out slightly fixed the fader delay but its still very noticable, its fine for mixing trance, but for house and break DJs that would use the faders for fast cuts, well there just not good enough, the xfader on the other hand is now really good, I don't notice ANY delay at all now, good think about it is, since it has the matrix system, you can assign the channels to the sides of the mixer and do your cutting with that instead of the faders.
If you have any other questions let me know.

this mixer annoyed me. but it was nice. but for the price.. and in its range of 4 channel mixers i think you could do better.
Pros:
Nice effects
Nice layout
Lots of lil lights.(con as well)
nice crossfader
Cons:
Biiig Delay on the upfaders
Short upfaders
Cant see the lil lights in the daylight (AKA bbq on DannyO's porch)
in this day and age id have to go for something with full midi control....
mmm nuo....

hmmm
Hmmm that is unfortunate about the upfader delay. At least the crossfader is quick, so hopefully it wont be a problem if i just keep reassigning the xfader to diff channels? I'm used to mixing with the fader turned off and just using the upfaders and EQ to bring in tracks.
In any case, i already ordered it online so if the faders are annoyingly slow then i can always return it in 30 days..
thanks for the help
