yeah i would like to know how to talk like a brit too. call me silly, but on top of that i want to adapt to their english accent for some reason. it sounds much more elegant to me than the canadian/american english.

all you need to do is watch episodes of the Bill, its an english police TV show set in an imaginary working class suburb of London called Sunhill.

The punters(public) often have the funniest sayings. The funniest one I remember was where two police go knocking on the door of this council flat they're looking for a Villian(criminal), and this middle aged woman who looks like shes been around the traps a bit answers the door

Police: is terry in
Woman: (Shouting in loudest possible voice) Terry, the old bill's here
TerryOffscreen shouting back at top of voice) Shut your mouth ya ole slapper.

I laughed for ages, not that the lines are particularly funny, it was just the way they said it.

And before any English people go slaggin off the Bill, yes I agree it used to be better years ago before it got all soap-operaish.
