Carl Cox on Preach & Marco G!
Carl had some nice things to say about Philippe & Marco in a recent interview during his North American tour..
Q-You've recently added Dj Preach, who is from Quebec City, to Intec’s family and declared, on your Global Radio Show, that he his the man to watch in 2005. How and when did you discover Dj Preach?
Carl: I discovered him about 2 years ago when I was down playing at Aria. He made a track that was called “War in the summer” which had just came out on Mistress Barbara’s label, Relentless Records. It just blew my mind when I heard it and I’ve played it straight away with him behind me and I told him: “It’s an amazing track”. That’s when I decided to find out what Preach was doing with his music. He’s so enthusiastic about his music it’s incredible. Him and Marco G are also making lots of projects together as well and have been sending me a lot of great music. His djing is incredible as well. Its really into what people want to hear today and I still believe he’s still one of today’s rising star worldwide and he has a great career ahead as a producer and also as a dj.
also has a few things to say about Montreal..
Q-Last time you were in Montreal was over 2 years ago for your Global World Tour. Happy to be back ? How do you find the crowd down here?
Carl: I’ve always loved the Montreal crowd. They’re always up for it, I mean they will dance until the dj stops you know. It’s incredible really how energetic and how passionate the people in Montreal are about music. Its just really refreshing to see that I can play all the styles of music and people would dance whether it’s house or drum and bass or techno. You know you can put all that in a mix and people will just love it cause they’re there to hear music. For me to be able to do that, to play music, and play with all these kinds of music it’s just perfect.
Q-Since you'll be playing @ Club 1234 in Montreal and @ Dagobert in Quebec City, which are nightclubs, Is your musical approach going to be the same as playing @ Space or in a major event such as Dance Valley?
Carl-Yeah it’s always a little bit different because, of course, they have set their own preference on the sound that they want to get but I mean I will always find a way to play music that was never heard before in the club. I mean play something fresh and unique.
