*updated* [progtrance] Takkra - Rythmicron

ok.. here's ánother tune I made in lets say 5 hours.. Ive never ever done anything like this style.. I just hád to try it
tell me what you guys think.. that would be very much appreciated
should I do more of this style or not?
whats wrong with it and what good?
is it really coming close to a progressive style?

[ click ]

duration 4:18
filesize: 6049 kb.
137 bpm. ( a bit fast for prog I think but it sounded good )

------------------------------------------------------------------

MEEP. UPDATED. .

- change of basssynth. z3ta didnt work for me somehow.. but I emulated a similar sound in Vanguard, after hearing the virus bass @ a friend's
- bit of groove improvement imo.
- the "mainbreak" got more complex, and I hope more driving fro you guys
- Actual outro
- Mastering of channels and compression of stuff, tweaking eq and all other tiny stuff you dont hear anyway lol
- New name

The new name is simply because I didnt really like "Rythmicron".. it doesnt sound like a Rythmicron track .. but because the track is so simple.. and still has "the elemental things" I gave it another name: "Original of Species".
Inspired by Charles Darwin's theory that there's one specie, from out of the others evolved. ( Biology class today lol )
and well my track is just a simple one compared to all other big complex ones around here .

Tell me if it improved or worsened please

Hey mate,

Sounds like you have a thing for Marco V? The beginning of your track reminds a lot of Marco V more prog/tech trancy stuff. I like that percussion on top of your kick in the beginning. Perhaps you want to give it a bit of delay and reverb to make it sounds les dry.

I am not found of the bass. It is a bit to simplistic. And could again use a bit of delay to stick with the beat more.

At the 1.32 mark the track becomes again better. Still very much Marco V sounding. DOn't know it this is progressive though. Sounds more a bit techtrancy to me

Really like what you are doing at the 3 minute mark. Tiesto'ish You can build that up more and more and really give it amazing energy by adding a bit more percussion (hihats mainly).

Overall this track is quite nice mate. Work it out more, it has potential. A bigger bassline, a bit more drive and you could have a good one here

sounds very remy & roland klinkberg

i think if you fill it up a bit more with some cooler effects. like.... feedback some synths or something like that. just some cool little elements would be nice. also percussion i feel like u need to change up the hi hat sounds... its way too weak for this track. definitely get a stronger hit up in there. and make a better more driving groove hit.

thats all just to my taste and preference tho of course.... overall decent track tho.

Hi bro,
Nice track...Like Nomen said

defently does remind me.
Kind of a simple production but with a lot to it, it's like the song is empty though the emptyness is what makes it full.
Anyhow, to the point - I like the progression of the track except that break part at 02.50...remind's me of Tiesto - Traffic but not the way I like it to be honest.
The sounds in the track are cool but I believe that with a bit more work you can achieve more fatness in them. ie the Bass could be fatter, if you got the latest Z3ta+ you should have a few presets named Virus Bass or something like that in the 'B' bank, just drop the arp and play with them a bit, I believe you'll find them fatter and more fitting.

Good job mate.

starts off brilliant and contines to get better and better!

you got a brilliant drive going on with this one and i love it. this is on a par with yves deruyters work in my opinion. all it needs is a nice lowish longnote pad playing behind everything- and obviously the capable hands of m.i.k.e.. to guide it in the right direction keep working on this but dont change too much! this is quality work and my favourite piece you have done.

keep going in this direction. its nice and once finshed and tweaked would be 9.5/10 material.

rich

sounds alright...on the right track

Imo it would be better if this is "converted" from progressive to something like ie. Fancy Fair.

i think the song needs more elements to fill the empty spaces...make it more noisy!!!

Hey man,

Can definately tell your improving with production. This sounds a lot more full. Nice bass and percussion and fx being used.

Waoh that really is a Traffic influence there for the break, sounding good though. I'd personally chuck something else in to make it a bit more lively and drive along a bit further, seems a little empty as it is.

Love the sound that comes in at 2:33 and then into another break, if you dont mind me asking, did you use anything in particular for that?

Great production mate, a few tweaks and you're onto a winner.

Another day, another Takkra tune it seems You must work very hard to bring us all these tracks at such a rapid pace!

Not such a big fan of this one dude. The production is very good and everthing is balanced very well but it lacks the original ideas and pumping feel of some of your other tunes. The main synth feels kinda weak too. I can see the tiesto influences, though I'm not such a fan of his stuff, so I think my reaction is just down to personal taste.

The track ended kinda suddenly at 4 minutes?? Not sure if it was supposed to do this.
