Question Female Vocalist "by proxy"

I need to find a female vocalist for my tracks, but I'm sick and tired of people not taking me seriously, or promising something then saying "I was just joking, I can't sing" etc.

Last year I found a girl in NYC who was willing to try it, but she didn't know me, was scared, didn't email me as often as I did, and the studio where we wanted to record was constantly "busy." Then I called the studio and they didn't take me seriously there, even though I called several times.

Then I went to some online forums and posted an ad there. Some girls responded but flaked out in the end. That's what I can't stand, this flaking all the time, "I was just joking around," etc.

So I'm really tired of this crap and I think I'm looking in the wrong places, I need to find someone who's serious about recording vocals. Doesn't look like there's anyone here where I live (this isn't Europe), so: What do you think about the idea of recording "by proxy"?

i.e., finding a girl on the web who has Cubase or Wavelab or has access to some local studio; I will send her the files with comments showing exactly what, where, and how to sing; she'll send me the result; I'll comment on the result, then email back; etc.

Can this be a successful process? anyone ever tried it with someone?

Yes, it all comes down to the dedication of the vocalist, and of course the money factor. If the paycheck to her is good enough for her, it'll most likely that she'll corporate with you all the way till the end.

I've tried it that way, and it worked, but, the problem would be the recording quality ( might not turn out to be the way you want to ) since the place she is at may not have good mic's or , whatever. because she might just record with her computer mic, which is disastrous as we all know.

you may try, but the results will not turn up to be the way you want.
just my two cents.

Women belong in the kitchen, not a studio. Record the vocals yourself, and user a vocoder.
