Uplifting trance tune. Feedback please! **Edited

This is a little half cheesy track I've made in reason 3, with a few free refills. Both good and bad critisism are welcome. Now the track isn't completely finished yet, as you might hear in the sample, so feel free to tell me if something can be added.

**Updated sample

meh I suck at mastering. This sounded very good with my sony mdr-v700 headphones, but now that I'm listening on my speakers it kinda sucks.

Be Cool!

Mastering is tough though....
This sounds alright in my headphones though (Sennheiser HD 280 pros).
I like your style in this one! The lead synth is way cool... where have I heard that arp before? Somewhere...can't place it. Maybe on the A Trip In Trance 3 CD??
DUnno..
anyways... like the vibe here. Great work on the filters too.
Seems to lack some of the "sparkle" on the highs. Can't really blame it on the sample, cuz you gave us 192kbs.

SOunds like Szardt&Trancejax to me! Nice

Thumbs up Sounds fine on my Headphones

I'm definetly loving the bassline and the dark atmosphere. The beginning is really energetic for this track. Good triple kick every 4th bar. The lead melody sounds nice and puffy lol

Mastering is really hard, but this track has so much potential. And your bass changes are phenomenal. I can definetly picture this one in the clubs once it's fully done.

It's needing alittle more atmosphere in the beginning.
BUt the air synths before the break sounds VERY inspiring.
Egh the break beat is totally unnescessary IMO, but it's your track.

Adding thicker pads to the build up will make it ound much more epic because it sounds really dry torwards the end there.

PM me when this is finished

Thx for all the nice comments guys. Yeah, I'm definitely going to finish this one. Going to puff up the pads and lead a little and get the mastering right. Maybe add a few fx and sounds.

I'm definitely impressed with what you've squeezed out of Reason. I've been messing around with it for some time now and getting quality sound is a challenge, or perhaps, I'm just underestimating the software.

In any case, great job on the kicks and the fx and an even better job on the bass. In fact your bassline is so good that I think it deserves much better synths, strings, and pads - the sound is very thin on those. Also your initial motifs seem kinda quite so may want to bring up the volume on those.

And Digital Aura is on the money: the sound totally reminds me of a track on A Trip in Trance (either 1 or 2, not 3 though)

And I don't suppose you can tell me how you made that sweep in the at the opening (or is it a sample?) Either way it sounds nnniiiicee!

Good job!

great stuff dude, from the sweet intro to the tight bassline and smooth melodic lines. pads could be a lot better, but hey- thats minor instrumental choice. go for it !

*also - reason kicks ass. thats what i use for all my productions, and lately all my samples come from the soundbank + programmed patches.

I've used a malström hooked up with a rv7000 and a peq-2. Malström is playing on both osc's (sawtooth 4 and Spectralsweep). On the rv7000 I've used the reverse algorithm (length: 2990 ms, density: 127)

And yeah I know the pads and synths sound a bit poor, but I'm working on it. I just find it really hard to get enough mid freq's in reason. I'm still quite new to mastering, but I'll post a new sample when I'm satisfied.

I think I've got the track mastered fairly acceptable now. I've boosted the mid freq's, removed some bass, beefed up the pads, changed the lead synth, changed some percs and fx and added a new melody to the buildup. Please tell me what you think.

New sample here

Hey mate,

This track has lots of potential. I love the percussion, beat, bass. The melody is good, just a bit on the thin side. You might want to sparkle it up with a bigger pad. Leadsound is also a bit thin.

But really everything in this track seems to be in place and it is a pleasant listen. Good effort so far, good luck on perfecting it.

Cheers!
