the real difference between the mk3's and mk2's are a reset button that wasn't featured on the mk2. With the mk2 you have to do it manually if you want pitch to be at zero, but the mk3 has a button that does it for you, and it seems to be good.

one disadvantage tho is, when you are mixing/replacing the record you could hit the button by accident which resets the pitch then, so that's NOT good.

my advice is; stick with the mk2's they were/are/and will be perfect.

the reset button is completely useless and it will add on a bigger price tag (most shops)

I have MKIII's. Man you would have to be pretty careless to hit the reset button by mistake

I'll border with impossible. I've never come close to hitting it, I don't know how you'd change records and bang around to hit it, and it's not a light button either, you'd have to bump it good and direct to get it to reset. Not to mention you'd also have to smack your tonearm real good (assuming you're changing records) as it's right over top of the button.

Grab whatever they have, the button is useless, I've yet to play a single record at 0% pitch

Thanks for your help, guys. where I intend to purchase from, the MK2s are £40/$60 cheaper. So it doesn't sound like it's worth forking out the extra money.

The *actual* difference is the click-less pitch fader (ie. there's no click at 0% pitch which activates the quartz lock) so the pitch is more accurate in the +/- 1% area. The button is only there to replace the Zero-Click on the pitch fader. Besides some cosmetical differences (cartridge holder, recessed power switch) it is the same as MKII. If you consider the price difference, keep in mind that the MK3D comes with a really good slipmat whereas MKII comes with the rubber mat that should be left in the box to begin with.
