DVD burner going crazy.

Ok it's weird.

Its those LG Multi Format DVD burners btw, and it was working fine and then for some reason i just couldn't burn in some ways, like couldn't burn Data but could burn Images and so on.

The weird thing is that whenever i format my computer, it's fine for a couple of days, then starts acting up again.

Previous format i couldn't burn Data but could burn Images... now its the opposite.

Anyone ever had this problem and know how to fix it?

I did, its the latest firmware. I even updated my BIOS to the newest version.

Still didn't fix it.

Go to Device Manager, locate your DVD-RW and uninstall completely the driver. Restart your computer and if this is WinXP it will automatically detect and reinstall a fresh, new uncorrupted driver for your DVD burner. If that doesn't work then it's probably the burning software that you are using. Try upgrading the burning software and see if they offer patches or fixes. Also a simple un/installation of the software may also help. Personally the Nero brand is the best software out there. Roxio socks since they always have bugs and force people to buy their upgrades unlike Nero. Hope this helps.

I tried this and it made it worse, it wasn't burning after that. So i just uninstalled it and went to google and searched for drivers and it went back to how it was, where it only burnt like crap.

A example of this is when u burn a movie or something, it used to be fine but now 75% of the movie is fine and the end 25% doesn't work well.

It's just stressful.

Get another CDRW, they're cheap. Throw the old POS out. If the new one doesn't work either, then return it for a refund and then figure out what the real problem (if any) might be.

Try a different brand of media prehaps?

Ritek or Verbatim ?

But yeah, go for the pioneer drives - only $60 at MSY Auburn.

Ok get a DVDRW and do the same. Reckon you can't figure out solution as well. If the new one works, then bingo, bad DVDRW. If not, then return it and figure out real prob. No more comments on your lack of mental capacity either please.
