Well, haven't heard from anyone yet about what everybody did on NYE in South Florida?!? I'm curious to know what all was going on. My recap is below...

We started the night at Mercury Lounge in Fort Lauderdale, getting there around 11:00. It was actually very crowded by that point and was extremely crowded by midnight, which suprised me because I thought that it would not be all that packed because of it being so new and all. DJ Garfield is the resident dj there and was actually really good... he spun tracks from the entire past year, not just new stuff. It was nice to hear songs from earlier in the year that you haven't heard at a club in a while. We ended up leaving around 2:00 to head to Space.

We got to Space at about 2:30 and it was already pretty packed by that point. $40 each to get in! We had a great time there, but the only thing that got a little hairy was at around 7:30 there were hundreds of people trying to go out to the back outdoor patio, while at the same time people were trying to come inside from the patio. If you guys know the corridor that I'm talking about, it's only about 4 feet wide. Needless to say, people got completely stuck and started screaming and panicking and the bouncers were yelling and shoving people as well. It was actually pretty scary. But we ended up staying until about 11:00, and we were out on the back patio for about the last 3 hours. To me, that's the best part of Space. You see some pretty fucked up shit out there, and the best part is just people-watching everyone in broad daylight that have been partying for 12 hours or so... I'm sure I looked quite scary myself! Finally was home in bed by Noon.

Anyway, overall it was a good NYE. Hope some of you others post some stories about your adventures that night as well! Later...
