Digital Download Purchases
I wanted to know if anyone has some insight on purchasing digital music. What sites, quality of mp3 files, reviews, recommendations and currency exchange.
I am aware of audiojelly, beatport, dance tunes(thanks philippe!). AudioJelly looks like the most comprehensive one as far as trance, maybe I'm wrong. But what is up with not being able to view the amounts in USD($).
Thanks for your input,
Mike D.

Beatport is the best for me but I havent really checked out what they have as far as trance goes cause I dont really listen to it anymore. You could try djdownload.com, its a UK site though (I think) so their prices are in pounds.

You can buy directly from most of the labels sites. Its kind of a pain but by doing this you are able to get all the tracks released by the label. You can also pay for promo CD releases to be mailed to you weeks in advance, which is nice if you are a DJ. As far as currency exchange, download a currency converter.

+1 to djdownload great site, just pricey
Audiojelly, beatport do most of my work...trackitdown.net is another store, never used it...but as we speak its undergoing maintenance

edmdigital.com, bedrock.uk.net, playittonight.com, and you'll be surprised the tunes you'll find on iTunes.

I think they've all been covered, except for Above The Sky, which isn't that great.
AudioJelly is allegedly run by Lustral/The Space Brothers. They are usually very responsive, so if you ask them for a currency converter, you just might get one
Track It Down often has stuff before the others do, but it is more expensive and the selection is more limited.

And only you.......
But to answer XTracktor, I am finding myself playing out more and mp3 downloads are great for home, but I want to try and have the best quality for tracks I intend on playing in clubs and large systems. Plus I want to support the scene so other producers can stay in the game and new ones can come up as well. I think that if one uses music for commercial/professional purposes that they should contribute and pay for the music that they play. I buy vinyl all the time but I need to start paying for digital music that I will use in demo's and live performances.
