Music is as universal to people as breathing. We've probably been at it since before we even started talking. Immaging two cavemen smashing away at a peace of flint to make a spearhead. It wouldn't take long for them to learn te synchronise the sound. And there you have it, the words first percussive band.

Music has survived wars, famines, the plague and many other things and has evolved with man across many cultures. Dance music is just the next step in the evolutionary chain. My guess is that it will probably be with us untill we are extinced.

Hey Charlie,

Nice toon!

I love the vocal sample.. until the chipmunk part.. the 2nd part of the sample, know what I mean?

Your synths are clean and bouncey and I like them, but they sound a lil thin - i think some FX on them will help a lot!

A few more perc layers will help build intensity throughout the tune. What you've got so far, perc-wise, is not bad, though a little repeptitive.

You've got some great ideas and your melodies work well together - with some fine-tuning & polishing you'll have a solid trancer!

Keep it up,
Trev

Hey mate, this is really nice. The melody flows really well and is quite catchy. Un-chimponking the vocals would be good The little synth runs during the intro are cool.
Production-wise it sounds a little thin, the percs are very bright and piercing, perhaps cook em up a little with fx and roll off the top end.
I enjoyed listening to this!

Heres an update guys. Enjoy! Don't wory about the end part, i was just playing around. Let me know if I should use the sound @ 6:25 in the rest of the track. I was thinking of using it in a break.

take a break from it. Listen to other stuff for a week or two, then come back to it.

Can't be bothered with this track anymore. It's no good anyway. Check out Charlie D - Force of Nature, I think that a better one to be working on.

nice track (force of nature) good break in it BUT you need to make you're tracks more melodic ya know like Fictvision - symbols or escape
or you could go down the path of AVB - Shivers (alex Morph remix)

altogether though its a good track to chill to it could be used in the clubs but it would be in a warm up set but like i said put some melodic styles to it A i would def play it on my sho A Taste Of Trance.

Check out my 2005 Album here

Thanks for that Youngstar, ill be taking your advice seriously. I was thinking of upping the melody with a longer vocal sample, I have 4 minutes of it and i'm only looping about half a minute of it. Maybe a pad to accentuate the change in key would bring out the melody more too.

kind regards,

Charlie D

P.S. Let the thread die please, click on the link for more recent work.

nice kick to start.

clean and cool sounding.

0;28 sounds good. almost similar to underworld in sound choice. i like the sounds and the vocal cry.

1;52 - the synth that comes in works well.

break at around 2.40 - not too over the top. fits the track well. the build got me nodding and looking forward to the kick returning.

beat is back; nice but i wanted something more minimal, maybe the guitar/piano synth muddies it, not sure...

up till 4.39 i found the track really cool and dubby/proggy. the main melody @ 4.39 kinda put me off just cos its not quite my thing. it works tho. i bet it sounds nicer without that synth altogether

up to the 4.39 mark id give the track a lot of respect. its sophisticated and oozes an aquired style.

great clean production

rich
