I listened to your track.

You have a good understanding of what you want to do but I think whats missing is the actual ability at this time to carry this out.

The Track needs a lot of EQ work done to separate frequencies.

The chimes that come in at around 1:10 are a bit 80's for my tastes.

2:07
The stabs aren't too bad, but the bass in the background could be more exciting. The melody afterthat is quite nice but becomes a little too over powering and the only thing that comes through is the kick and chimes. The bass frequencies have been lost. What you need to do is cut off some of the lower range frequencies on that lead and it would make a lot of difference.

Hope you keep this up though as I'm sure in no time we will be hearing some great work from you.

Cheers
Nem

LOL... I'd just go with googled EQ tutorials. They get the job done, but nothing beats simply mixing. It's like swimming, you just have to hop in. I still have a long ways to go myself, being an amatuer just like you.

That being said, I appreciate what you are trying to do. The ideas are there, all these sonic elements need to be stacked appropriately. THe bass is too quiet and limited, the kick needs to be layered with another kick that has much more OOMPH. The synths themselves could be cleaned up to sound more stereo-unisoned and less muddy. I don't know why, but this reminds me of some sort of video-game soundtrack from a long time ago. Maybe Darius (slaps his forehead).

Awesome job... especially if you are new to this, you are sure to make alot of hits in the future.
