Yooo..whats up guys..first time posting in the CoR for me. Anyways, I have a strange story to share with you. Maybe you have some input for me. Soooo, I'm riding the train home from work today and I get a call on my cell. So I look at the caller ID and it says "Unknown". Ok so I pick it up cause I'm a curious bastard and it's like some operator lady and she said something to the effect of "Someone is calling you from an Internet Relay Service have you ever received a call like this before?". Of course I was like "uhhh wtfno." So the op proceeds to tell me taht someone is typing to her and she is dictation what they are typing and that after my reply i have to say "go ahead". ok, yeah. First thing the person says to me is "Is this Nicholas?". And yeah, thats me so I was like thaaaaaas me. Then the person asked me for my full name. I told em it was "Nicholas". So the person proceeds to tell me that "Since your family evaded a court order on illegal downloaded files that there is a warrant out for my arrest.". Ok, so i've downloaded some stuff before, big deal. When I asked what company the person was calling me from, they said they were from my local town municipal court. Shouldn't a federal court be handling something like this? Then I asked what "files" this was in reference to and I either got disconnected they hung up. So I did some research and I came up with http://www.ip-relay.com. So what do you guys think? Was someone trying to prank me or was this the real deal? I don't understand why they are calling me. I didn't receive a court order, nor did anyone in my family. And it's not even my name on the internet account? wtf is going on??

If there was any legitimate warrant out for your arrest it would be sent via certified mail, and I'm sure you would receive a direct phone call from an actual representative of the judicial division that was responsible for your prosecution.
