so fuckin what? there is no end dude... musicians will always need an instrument they can relate to... even if producers never use hw again.

Software is getting to be pretty darn powerfull, it's not like he is selling any great analog synths though, he is just getting rid of his crappy digital DX7 (sorry I know it's history, but I hate them) and Prophet VS.

software is awesome...i was so skeptical a few years back as i used to be obsessed with hardware...but just go to www.soundsonline.com and check out all the awesome stuff! the only downfall is you need a suped up machine (or 2 or even more machines) to power everything efficiently. i don't have the budget for that yet.

I use software right now, and I realize that half the time I'm spending is trying to get the right sound. Well, dammit, I'm lazy and I'm a composer by heart, not a producer. I hate to say it, but I don't -want- to have to work to get a decent saw/pad/bass etc. I just want to concentrate on the theory- yes, I know hardware isn't an instant solution, but I feel like it will be much easier than tinkering with multiple instances of softsynths and EQing the shit out of my mix. Consequently, I'm going to buy some hardware very soon- not a whole lot, but just enough to complement z3ta and Absynth.
