Ok weird question about vanguard FX in FL

Okay I'm not too sure how to word this so bear with me.

I installed Vanguard in FL Studio. When I scroll through the different sounds it has, there are Leads, Synths, Basses, FX, etc.

So I picked a "FX 64 Percussion MS"

I fill in one cell of the Playlist with it, but the sound continues through the entire track (about 30 seconds is all I've got so far).

Why is that? Why doesn't it just play the sound in the cell I have it in?

I hope you can understand what I'm trying to ask. Thanks in advance, you guys are always so great on here!

Are you sure you added it to the right track/pattern? Obviously if you added it to something that plays through the whole song then it'll play through the whole song. Otherwise post a sample or something or the flp

Dude use Piano Roll!!! lol

Right click on the vangaurd channel on the fruity sequencer and click edit piano roll. Then draw ur note and it will only go for that amount of time

Well I just had it in one (the very first) box of the step sequencer

weirdest thing now the sound isnt even playing lol

The Step sequencer in FL doesn't send note-off messages until another note is played, it's kinda flawed... So what you'll have to do is export the steps to the piano roll (or work directly with that)
