Chris Walsh did a great job as well... picked up the energy after me.

Paul went on @ 2 am and used 2 laptops... 1 with Serato Scratch Live and the other with Abelton Live!!! I was totally drooling over his setup!

did not record my set... they are having issues with the recorder there.

quick review...

This was one of the few shows where the warm up DJs (that i would hardly call warm ups anymore) felt like headliners. Seneca, you're set couldn't have been more fitting for Chris Walsh, and Chris' set couldn't have been more fitting for PVDs. I would like to see more of you both around. The only gripe i have would be waiting for PVD to come on at 2, it seemed it was taking forever, i was holding in a piss and couldn't leave the dance floor :-)

I wasn't disappointed with PVD at all. Taking into consideration that he just came off a 6hr set in NY, he still brang a superb vibe and an extraordinary presence. Dance floor got really packed at one point with a bunch of "Miami's" so ended up on the second floor going at it hard non stop. I would have liked to get more chills from the tracks he was playing but there is no room to complain about what was an excellent night and it finished off superbly with a 1 on 1 photograph with Paul which he came out of the DJ booth especially to do. :-) Who was that woman that kept on saying "one more and thats it" to him????
Hope everyone had a wicked time, it definitely showed.
Eddie

First off, Seneca (& Walsh)- NICE! Good work man. Like the demo as well!

PVD laid it down nasty...started at 2am, played til close. Started banging it immediately with the techno (straight up techno for like 45 min). I remember sending my roomate a text saying "it may as well be coxy right now" Played a good mix of styles throughout (trance, acidy house, prog, techno, etc). Slowed it down a bit (to like 137) for a little while and played some pitched-up prog (jet lag slave, santiago nino - believe, deepgroove - acid house music (d ramirez mix), the other side, etc).

Right after the other side at like 4am (deep dish remix) he laid down 40 minutes of the nastiest trance I have ever heard. No unicorns here at all. Finished it up with For an Angel and Time of Our Lives. Encore - Mindcircus Original mix (which is a classic & def not terrible). Perfect mixing throughout (as always)...he was doing the standard PVD 'slam in the new kick drum' mix technique all night which added to the energy. I kind of forgot about the cold air guns at vision...they let it go once for what seemed like 2-3 minutes.

Crowd was extremely into it...probably the most packed/crazy I have seen at Vision. We braved the main floor for like 30 minutes but I literally had to keep 1-2 hands in the air at all times b/c it was so damn crowded. Couldnt even drink, smoke, etc. Crowd did not thin out one bit - was equally packed at 5am. Even Lucas was dancing around in the booth at the end

Overall a solid, solid night once you accepted the ridiculous crowding. Havent listened to/been to a trance show in a loooong while but PVD is still the man.

PS- thank God party season is coming to a close in Chicago
