Columbus, OH
It's a town with many aspects. The city's art district has been booming, especially with a monthly event known as Gallery Hop where artists rent out or are given space downtown and people walk around, drink cheap beer and buy art of all kinds and prices ranges. You can find paintings for 10 bucks, and sculprutres in the the thousands. Live music and conceptual art round out the attraction.
If sports are more your thing, We have an NHL team who's arena was recently ranked #1 by ESPN, the first professional soccer stadium in the U.S., and of course the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ohio State is also the largest school in the nation (based on 2003 enrollment numbers) which means alot of people in a small area, and alot of hot, drunk chicks walking around in the fall and spring months. Football season is especially crazy around campus.
If you need a place to go to school. Columbus not only has Ohio State, but schools specializing in many topics, from law to electronics, from civics to artistic design. As far as metropolitan areas go Columbus is one of the largest cities in the US, usually ranked around #18. Depending on how many burbs are includded in the count, out population is anywhere from 750k to 1.1 million. Its also a 2-3 hour drive from major cities like Cleveland, Cincinatti, and Indianapolis, and has one of the cheapest cost of livings for metropolitan areas in the country
In closing, I;d like to say that I want to get the fuck out of here. I'm also looking for a new place to live, preferably one with more cultural significance and larger access to diversionary actions than once a month "festivals" and bars.
