How much weight do U put on your cartridge (home/club)

hey guys, i was wondering how much weight you put on your cartridges when spinning.. does it differ when you are using your tt's at home or at the club?

i am currently putting 2.5 g's on my numark tt500's w/ shure m44g cartridges when i'm at home and was wondering if that was too much weight. i was thinking about dropping back to 2g's... also should i put more weight on the cartridges if i dj at a party or something where there is people dancing around me and stuff?

thanks
bisco

I think thats chill exspecially for shures, As for in the club to be honest im really hard on my records as their serato scratch records and easy to replace so i put the weight all the way down for that extra traction.

at home w/the whitelables, i have them set at about 1.8-2g.

at our last desert party (my first time using the needles out of the house, hence the first time using it at our party) i ended having to set them at 3g, after than they played perfectly the rest of the night. any less, skipping, and popping issues would crop up. the ground wasn't perfectly flat, and there was a breeze at the begining of the night. so a little extra weight was all it needed.

I think you can go a bit easier on the weight; I'm running 1.2g on one and 1.5g on the other and the only time it skips is if I'm going nuts with the record. I have m44g's, btw. And I run different weights on my two tables because one of them skips easier than the other, for some reason.

I find that i need different weight for my m44gs. I also found that they need to kinda 'warm up' evertime i use em.
They dont work so well for the first few min then they start sounding better. Its realy wierd.
