Hey. Heres a pretty decent list . My personal recomendation is to use VSampler because of its wide range of format support. Most of these are single shot samplers but some are multitimbral but ones that arent meant for drums (meaning you will be able to have pitch control).
I've used Tobybear's Helios, it does just what you want, it has the capability to load one sample with an ADSR envelope and some other simple functions.... I can't remember if it supports looping though...

thanks Low Profile and Darksword, ill give u a lightsaber for all those links
imo the best thing to do it, run fl as vst/rewire. that way you will have a full sampler and ofcourse the choise between step-sequenser & piano roll without the need for lots of vst samplers that kill your cpu.

Eh... He asks for something simple, and you suggest running fl as a sampler?

something excactly like simpler what was I had in mind, I`ve also tried using FL as rewire/VST, but it kills the arrangement overview for me.. hence i dont use that solution..
I tried the Todybear Helios, and it was excactly what i was looking for, only thing that the preview button didnt work, so that one goes out the window too..
I also looked at the V-Sampler, but way too complicated..
