China is a lot more capitalist than you'd think. For a communist nation, they seem to have a lot of curiously free-tradelike policies. If any country will be #1, it will be China, since the US seems to be at that corrupt and stupid stage near the end, ala the Roman Empire before the fall. China on the other hand is becoming more and more open to new things and open to playing the system to get what they want. |
China has a looong way to go.
Lets not forget they had to change their ways or go the way of the dodo like their worldly brethren and that their government can do whatever it wants sans civil liberties.
Their government may be 'for the people' but it's far from being 'about the people'. Until they embrace private ownership and a private entrepreneurial spirit, they base their economy on a reverse deck of cards that ironically, Western ideals will take advantage of until their crash.
Until then, it's get in and make a quick buck before their people get a whiff of freedom and revolution occurs.
Anyone remember Perestroika?

The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all change to silver glass...and then you see it...
...white shores...and beyond...the far green country under a swift sunrise."
