Question help me plz

is there any way to change the settings so that i can increase my screen resolution? i just got a new computer at work with a 19" monitor but it only goes up to 1280x1024 and i reeeally wish it was 1600x1200... i tried installing the driver for the monitor but that didn't work. are there any programs that will let me do this or am i screwed?

thank you in advance if you can help me out!

right click an empty spot on your desktop.
properties.
under the settings tab should be a resolution bar.

yeah, but it only goes up to 1280x1024... i'm wondering if there's a way to alter the settings outside of that, so that i can increase the resolution.

Maybe your video card doesn't support higher resolutions?

I don't know much about computers, just throwing a random thought out.

afaik your resolution is limited by your hardware and theres no way to increase it [and if you do it might be damaging]

they areright.
unless u havent installed some additional drivers, your video card wont go any higher.
sometimes when u install a new videocard windows recognizes it as a standard video card.
but when you install its drivers you get a whole can of whoop-ass with it.

that's what i figured... you'd think a brand new computer would be able to support higher resolutions though. 1280x1024 looks soooo ridiculously huge on this monitor.

maybe i'll just tell my boss i need a new video card

Well since you work in graphic design it shouldn't be overly difficult to convince him that you need a better video card to properly do your job

right click the device & select 'update driver'
