Lately I've been revisiting all sorts of DJ sets I dl'ed back in the day.

Granted, sometimes you can DL things that are completely misnamed/misattributed, but I have at least 50% faith in this one: it is without a doubt Fergie's bangin' techno/hard house/occasional bit of trance style.

The file clocks in at 77:51. There is no crowd noise on the recording and there is no Pete Tong or German guy identifying the venue or the DJ or the radio show or anything. The highlights are as follows (I'm saying they're cool and I'm trying to help you identify them for me; I have no idea what they are):

approx 16:00: "You wackass motherf***er!"...some awesome song that partially borrows its beat from the Goodmen classic "Give it Up" and borrows its bass from Jaydee's even more classic "Plastic Dreams"

23:55: some dramatic trance-y track with someone who sounds remotely like Sarah McLachlin singing "Baby join me in this"

42:35: "Work that ass!"...another ludicrously catchy tune with only these lyrics, a little bit of (repetitive, non-sexy) piano comes in about halfway through

50:50 "Insomniac! I'm asleep!" (the "insomniac" seems lifted right from DJPC's old-skool happy rave track "Insomniak")...a catchy tune in its own right so the cheering-crowd-noise that's part of the track is utterly unnecessary (see also Darren Tate - "Prayer for a God", don't see also XL - "Fluxland" because that song is cheese and not even real crowd cheering could save it)

55:12 "Charlotte is hot at 69"...yeah the very next track is another asskicker (once again it only has one line of lyrics)

59:50 Ratty - Sunrise (OH MY GOD a song i actually can name!)

64:30 "We've gotta connect"...a nice hard banger

71:25 Public Domain - Operation Blade (OH MY GOD that's two!)

anywho those are the highlights as far as I'm concerned. seeing as how Fergie didn't crack the TA top 100 and nobody's posted a tracklist for this yet in FOUR YEARS i'm scared that nobody out there likes the Fergmeister ... sad, really ... his Mixmag 'Funky Techno Mix' is one of most addictive CDs I've ever owned, and his Essential Mix from Jan 13 '01 is awesome even for the simple fact that it taught me there's a trance mix of the theme from Doctor Who! (by the way, can anyone tell me what that track is, too? thanks!)
