Hey Pho Mo!

Nice track you got there. Beatwise it reminds a lot of a M.I.K.E production. Also the build up riffs sounds like him. Nice atmposphere. I have to say I don't like the vocals in this track because it is way to obvious that you used the D. Malaia Voice Package also they don;t add to the dark atmosphere you got going.

Great break! Great leadsection. I am really digging this track. Especially at the 2.45 mark. Great stuff, good original sound. I would just ditch them vocals mate and maybe add a stringlayer instead.

For the rest I really like this track!

I like this tune musically alot...

Nomen said it was obvious you were using malaia's voice pack, well not to be rude but so what! thats what its there for! heh

I dont know if this is a mastered version or just an unmastered complete mixdown, but something about it sounds too "cooked" or every one of your synths carries a high frequency, all except the voice sample. But it sounds like theres too much harmonic excitement at the high frequencies. dont get me wrong its a great mix, but theres a little edge to all of your sounds that all mas together in a high frequency somewhere. Probably water under the bridge but thats my two cents!

Great Track!

first thing i noticed: no midbass/secondary-bassline... only major thing i noticed (unless that acid-sounding synth is the midbass). track sounds great around one minute. vocals are a bit loud, perhaps setting them background would be better, and chop them up a little more because they seem to become annoying.

Main lead sounds great, the synth could be a little fatter, imo, i'm not liking that variation in bassline (how it hits those high notes). During the mainsection, the track sounds a bit empty. In general, it'd be nice to hear some more submelodies to give the track depth, especially during the mainsection.

And something has to be done about those vocals, haha.

Bottom line: track is great but lacks a bit of depth/fullness. Hope everything gets sorted out as you put the final touches on it. It's good hearing new music from you

Love the high synth lead. Just an idea: but you could add another layer that is an octive lower with maybe a unison filter to build up later in the track??

Great bass drum / great bass.

The vibe of this tune is wonderful. I just have a feeling half way through that it needs to be built up more. It is a very power track & has the potential to be a 'killer'!

I also like the pho mos use of the malaia voice pack. Great job! Id like to hear her voice spiral around a bit more though. Maybe if you extend the echo a little & pan...

Excellent work mate (as always!!!) It's always a pleasure to here one of your tunes.

Hmm... Cool melodies here, though I'm not impressed by the sounds you use... And that's a shock to me, because you normally use nothing but outstanding (clean and crisp) sounds!!!

That being said, I fancy the structure of this one. Very few boring moments in the track, as it's relatively short and is packed with different breaks and stuff.

In the end, I think it's a very solid track. There's not really any mainmelody which sticks to your head, but that doesn't matter. The melancholic feel to it is enough for me

listening...
needs an intro, that synth in the beggining should start 16 or 32 patterns later.
the vocals doesnt fit well with the synths, try pass them threw Xciter.

overall, i like your synths & perc, keep it going

Thanks everyone for listening - the feedback is excellent and I'll incorporate pretty much everything you guys have pointed out.

Nomen - thanks man, glad you liked it. I may well ditch the vocals as a main element, and just use them instead to complement a stringlayer.

bartekface - thx! so does that mean you like the bass, or does it mean teh track needs more?

KThought - that's a really interesting comment about the high frequencies. In this mix I cut more high frequencies than ever before lol.. but I think maybe I went a bit nuts on distortion plugins too. I'll look into it!

EtherealSL - yeah the acidy thing is the mid-bass, but it's pretty high. Does the track need beefing up in the low-mid range? The high notes are a mistake and i'll fix them for sure. Submelodies - good idea.. on the way.

Xeno - hey cheers man. great idea about the swirling vocals. half way through - i'm definitely gonna build that up - crank up the power for ages and release it with the vocal bit.

alexpea - cheers man, i'll put in more work on the synths for sure. the track is mainly about structure and melody not polish yet.

vrahnos - i completley agree! this mix is my 'radio edit' and the final will be a club mix for sure. final will have an intro, outro and a breakdown that goes for more than 8 bars

everyone - thanks heaps for listening and your feedback. about the vocals : i'm completely busted a la doru's sample pack but hell - only TAs are gonna know (but then maybe TAs will be the only ones to hear the tune). i need to do something tricky with them anyhow.

Copy That pho, Its most likely an overdrive or tube-up of some sort. the "cooking" adds a real professional touch, i just think maybe you could have the effect but clear it up a little. No other problems. Great Work.

Thanks for clearing that up man, it'll save me scratching my head and looking elsewhere for unruly high frequency content!

haha, no problem, you have a very good handle on the frequencies. The last thing i want to do is add more hours of head scratching for any producer... lord knows theres enough.
