Ok, so I decided I really wanna start mixing and I don't know where to start...I think I've decided on Pioneer MK2 1000s for the CDjs...but mixer? headphones? etc...I'm lost...lol. Heard that Technics headphones were decent and Alan&Heath (or something like that) mixer was good too.

Any suggestions and details about your suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys. Thanks in advance

OMG, I'm so excited to start

I suggest you to go to moog audio store and ask them. They know their shit!

You should go with stanton headphones imo

Damn, if you want the cdj 1000s and an allen and heath mixer then you basicly want the best of the best. If i were you, id save some money and get the pioneer cdj 800s, awsome decks that you could pick up for around 800 bux new. As for the mixer, anything vestax, pioneer (not everyone would agree, but i like them), A&H (Allen & Heath Xone:32 perfect for home use) would do.
Myself i have a Vestax PCV-275 Mixer and im more then satisfied. Just purchased a pioneer cdj 800 deck from Aria last night and up to now i love it. Do some homework and check reviews about the stuff you are interested to get cause dj equipment tends to be quite expensive. A good place to start would be TA (check dj booth on the main forum page).
Sony headphones are great but the joints tend to die on you. I got stantons and they are good as well.

Good luck

Thank you so much! What a post Ya, I know this is expensive stuff I'm getting myself into so I figured I might as well just go 4 the best (of today's technology; I could sell it later on) right away so that I'm working with quality equipment from the start of my learnings. Pioneer 800s...2 for $800?! New?! Nice deal dude!

Here's my personal advice... A lot of the my pleasures of being a DJ comes from going to the store, choosing, seeing, touching the vinyl. Buying it, and come back home excited to take it out of the cover.

It has a look, a colour, a feel to it. When I take out or scrolling trough the records while i'm playing, I have a bunch of emotions just at looking at the cover, I KNOW how this track feels like.

Maybe if you go 100% CDJ, you will not have an automatic satisfaction that a beginner is looking for. Being all digital is colder, unless you have crazy fun with it like Zabiela. I could go 100% cds today, but never would have the fun I have buying and playing records.
