Need technical criticism...

So I had started making a track awhile ago and I stumbled upon it today because I reformatted 2 days ago =/. Anyways I was just looking to see what you guys think about the sample clip I'm gonna post. Can you see this going anywhere? Is the melody catchy? Things of that nature. Just drop me some advice and we'll see what's up. Only the kick, bass, and the second main synth (the pluck/arp sounding thing) have effects on them. Oh and I added a quick master compression just to down the levels a notch. Anyways...here's the link: http://s45.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=...WX0JSU78HAK92OZ

Sounds like a really good start. Since you asked opinions on whether the melody is catchy, I'd say it's 50% catchy The first half where it's heading up sounds really good, until you realise it's just going to come straight back down again the same way. Try throwing in some other notes. The second melody, with a bit more rhythm sounds more interesting.
The bassline is pretty catchy, it resolves nicely and keeps the flow going, and you could build some really nice progressions off it.

alright thanks a lot. yeah i'm gonna change the bassline a little bit...probably end up making it more rolling or something and change the notes more once i start the second buildup or something. The percs are going to be MUCH different with more snare rhythms
