I have SOME money, what next?

lets see....well, to make a long story short i got $350 to watch some dogs for the week, i really wanna start buying equipment within the next three months but still need to see if i actually want to do it or not.

Anyways i was wondering should i save and buy everything together or should i buy piece by piece....and if i do buy piece by piece does the equipment usually upgrade as fast as computers..meaning do they come out with a lot of new stuff fast?

Don't know what you should do, I'd probably save up for some decent stuff, like Techs, buy 2nd hand, if you don't like it, you can sell them again without losing money. About the upgrading, you don't have to worry about that, Techs are being used for many many years now, and they're still perfect. With mixers, don't know, but if you hear stories about Pioneer DJM-500 for example, it's still a good mixer after years. For bedroom dj's that still would do the trick I suppose

it's all up to how much you want to spend at once

i would save for tables and a decent mixer. Probably some second hand techs or something simliar. I would buy a Vestax Mixer used if you want to and spend the rest of the money on records.

I wouldn't believe any of that crap if I were you. Vinyl is very expensive but I can only find about 10% of the tracks I buy on CD. I'm completely in love with vinyl anyway.

What I would do is save, and save and save. 2 months of a summer job and I got the equip i wanted and thats 2 mk5g's and a vestax 275 mixer with 2 orotfons and v700 sony's. Cost quite abit. But I mean the more you save the better off you are, acourse its a no brainer. But waiting 3 months on the equip that you wont need to upgrade for 5 to 10 years is worth the wait.

Also and this is a IMO, go cd decks. Will save you quite a bit and you are more mobile. If i had to do it over again I would of saved quite abit more and bought a few pioneer decks

You gotta have at least $2000. After equipment, there is loads and loads of vinyl you'll have to buy. It's like a disease.

why on earth would they make vinyl illegal by 2009?

'sorry sir, but we have to confiscate that gramophone player.'

'ok lads, chuck it into the furnace with those blocks of smack...'
