OMFG what a weekend in Vegas! Donald Glaude review!
I had a busy 3 day stretch of clubbing and it was all fuckin awesome! Went to Bad Boy Bill @ On Broadway on Thursday night until 3AM and our flight left for Vegas the next morning at 7. We got to Vegas and a couple of our friends surprised us by being there when they said they wouldn't be able to make it so we were stoked.
On Friday night we had VIP to ICE for Donald Glaude's birthday party and fucking A it was off the hook! We got to ICE around 11:30 and it was DEAD. The only room that had people was the hip hop room and rap is pure crap so we went into the main room and waited for Donald and company to get there. It started picking up around 12-12:15 and Charles Feelgood came on. Wow, Charles spun a great set and warmed us all up very nicely for Glaude. His tracklist wasn't consistent in which there weren't continous banging tracks but every other track was nuts and his mixing was perfect.
It was hard to keep track of time but I'd say Charles spun for about an hour and a half then the Glaudefather stepped up. First off, I was very fuckin stoked to be there for his bday because obviously he was going to throw down massive tunes...and he did just that. Every single track for 4 hours straight was as good as the first one. His effects, normal hardcore scratching and INSANE basslines were unbelieveable! And of course what attribute does Glaude have over almost all other DJ's? FUCKING ENERGY! I've seen Glaude more than 10 times in the last year and a half and never has he been this energetic and exciting to both watch and listen, rave or club. In the main room they have a box that's probably about 15x15 ft and the same crew was up on that thing rockin out the whole night together, we had so much fun. After 3 hours of hardcore dancing I yelled out "Donald, stopped rippin my heart out!"
This was my first time at ICE and the cold fog ice that they shoot into the crowd every once in a while was soooooo cold. It felt good but I froze up everytime.
On Saturday we were supposed to go to Empire Ballroom and the people we partied with wanted us to go to ICE again to see Faarsheed. We did neither because we were so dead from the night before, we didn't even get to sleep till 12 noon. I really wish I could've made it to Empire Ballroom as I hear it goes off as well but I just couldn't move myself.
All in all, this weekend was off the hook! It was my first week to party after I turned 21 last Saturday and I'm lovin it!
I'll be back for Digweed/Faarsheed on the 7th of Jan.
