I almost got ****ing owned
It was New Year's Eve and i was doing about 120 up the dark, wet Hamilton bridge (the one over the lake and factories). I was about half-way up the bridge, in the middle lane, surrounded by cars, when i realized that my car was slowing down. I pressed the gas and the engine revved, but nothing happened. 100... 80... 60.... The cars behind me were closing in, fast. I swerved right to get out of the way, which (as i was now doing about 45) translated into a very slow, gentle lane change. This turned out to be a good thing, as that delay left enough room for an Esso fuel truck (which would have otherwise ended up in my rear end, or on my rooftop) to fly by. Somehow, now barely moving, i made it to the right shoulder and stopped. The car started rolling backwards. HANDBRAKE!! Stopped. Whew. Wheewww. Luckily, my friend saw what happened and pulled over on the shoulder several hundred feet away. He slowly backed up towards us, picked us (me and gf) up and carried us off to the Falls for NYE. Later that night, i got Nissan Roadside to pick the car up and drop it off at the dealership near my house. It's there right now. The clutch is gone, perhaps the tranny too.
