Ok...here's the Zabiela story:
So I head over to London, England in June this year for the weekend; and since Zabiela was playing at The Cross that Saturday, the plan was to go check him out. It was his Utilities release party too, so I was really looking forward to it. We head over to the club around 11:30pm, sober as hell and 30 minutes before they stop selling alcohol anywhere in the city outside of night clubs. We stand in line for not even 15 minutes, come up to the lady at the door and to our surprise, she's not going to let us in because, and I quote, "We're not dressed smart enough". "WTF??" I think to myself and ask her to define "smart" for me, to which she snaps back "figure out yourself."
I walk away from the line, join my buddy Perry (maxstradamus on TA, and joanna aka jojo_k) and we're all pissed as hell. Mine and Perry's weekend in London is pretty much ruined. It's already past midnight, so getting hammered back at the hotel room isn't even an option. All that was left was head back to King Cross station, hit our hotel room and go to sleep. On our way back to the station, I decide to drop James an SMS saying that unfortunately I won't be able to come say hi cause the kind people at the door won't let us in. Just as we reach the station, my phone rings. Who's calling? Mr. Zabiela himself. He tells me to head back to the club and meet him by the entrance, where we'll walk in with him (OMFG!).
So we run back, meeet him halfway there, and continue walking to the club and chitchatting a bit. Once we reach the entrance, we go back to the same entrance where they originally turned us away. The 2 bouncers immediatelly recognize us and go to eachother "hey, aren't those the guys from before?" to which the promotor who's with James says "Sorry mate, they're with the DJ!" As we're walking in, I give that kind lady that told me to go figure out what "smart" meant a nice, "guess I figured it out"-look, and proceed to walk in
