??? I have a couple of Ableton questions ???

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what type of file Ableton saves as. Also, how would you convert that file into a .wav file? Any help is greatly appreciated.

ableton save's project files as als. however, they are just data arrangement quant's. once you have your audio ready to mix down to wave, you would click file -> render to

You could do that...but its almost like cheating since you can go back and re-arrange stuff in the .als

I just mix live and record using a separate program.

Record a set in ableton...

Open Ableton, set up all your audio tracks, settings, filters, etc, then press the Global Record Button at the top of the window before playing your first track...

Start your first track and do your mix. When you are done, be sure to save your set as precaution.

Then just do a File --> Render to Disk. Be sure to put in the Length of your set to make sure it renders the whole thing, set it to Wav, 16 bit, etc etc and whala...let it go and it'll do it's thing.

Probably the more difficult way of doing it, but it works :P
