The intro track...

Is it just me, or does everyone else really appreciate a DJ that can choose a great intro track?

I have this thing about looking at different DJ's intro's. I never start off a set with just a plain track.

Being the Sasha whore I am, I will say that I love his intro's because he always picks some unique track for them.

What other DJ's have really nice intros? (or really bad )

i definitely appreciate a good intro track. sasha has always done that.

like back in the day he'd take:

Jean Michel Jarre - Ethnicolor ----> Underworld - Dark & Long

or

Sasha & Emerson - Scorchio (Lat Nite Dub) -----> Sasha & Emerson - Scorchio (Original)

i looooooved that shit hehe. hell i didn't even know they were different tracks til i did a little research.

zabiela of course is also really good with intros...he usually does some kind of effect intro or sampling or something...which is cool.

as for others that do good intros...i'm a little stuck, haven't listened to many livesets lately. but yeah intros are always great! not just some kick drum starting...

Good ole Project Medusa vs Exor - Moonshine (Exor Mix pt 2) comes to mind

Now THATS an intro track.

What I find about a lot of intros is that you have a little semi-ambient stuff and then the beat comes out of NOWHERE. At least with Moonshine it fits into the buildup perfectly.

I always love intros. Usually even more than an outro. Overall I love both.

Yeah Zabs looped "You Have Five Minutes To Surrender" for like a minute and ran some efx unit work on it as his intro here. It was pretty ace.

Another insane one Zabiela did was ->

01. Intro w/elements of KLF - What time is Love/Space Manoeuvres - Stage One (Space Manoeuvres' Total Separation Mix)
02. Kraftwerk - Numbers (Live Version) Vs 2 Bad Mice - Bombscare
....

intro track is key. doesnt have to start with a melody only... but it has to be chill and nice.

intro track is KEY!
