Chicane - Early and that stuff

The stuff that's first on Far From The Maddening Crowds, it's just awesome. But is there anything else like it? Haven't found any myself.

If you are just talking about Chicane productions, then try:

Offshore (Original Ambient Version)
Overture
Low Sun
No Ordinary Morning
Saltwater (The Thrillseekers Remix)
Andromeda

"Autumn Tactics"
This is a nice piece of trance for those who favor vocals in their productions.

Chicane - Early

is one of my favorite tunes from him. if you want stuff like this you'd probably be better off looking beyond Chicane though to ambient / downtempo / experimental music is general. i'll post some track suggestions in a bit...getting ready to leave at the moment.

i really do feel like Maddening Crowds was a prelude to the masterful Behind the Sun which includes the following...

his new stuff has sounded a bit commercial, which is not the classic chicane that i want to hear...

I have this Chicane - Far From The Maddening Crowds album. Aye, I remember it was very good. It was the first chill out album I bought

Anyway, recommendations for something similar are tricky.
I know something that could be something for you, but it has no vocals. However, the chill-tranceish atmosphere somewhat like in some Chicane tracks is there too - in a way. I am speaking of Chilling Matenda - Mediteran. This one has it in a way, in a similar, but still own way. I mean, I don't even know all tracks, but those that I know remind me a bit of that style ... Lucky Smile for example, this one is a good example, listen to that! No Comprendo too. On a whole this album does probably not cut into the same kerf as Chicane ... but it cuts the same tree I think
Well, at least it has this vibe more than the other thing I wanted to recommend and that was Delerium ... but I Matenda is better. You must catch the Mediteran album though, the first one is different.

Great track. I particularly like the last minute of the track, with that very very subtle melody.

Nobody does it quite like Chicane, but I think it'd be well worth it if you checked out the following two CD compilations:

Deep & Chilled Euphoria (digitally mixed by Red Jerry)
Chilled Out Euphoria (digitally mixed by Solar Stone)

They're both full of tracks in a similiar vein to Chicane's 'Early', and Solar Stone's compilation even features 'Overture'. I don't think you can go wrong with them really. It's all pretty inspirational stuff.
