i dont like total recorder, especailly since i have to pay...or find a working cd key...any free decent ones that dont have like a '30 second' limit?

Audacity is excellent and its free!

i never liked audacity the recordings never seemed to be very good quality.
I just used the creative recorder that u get with creative soundcard

Audacity is really good. My computer isnt the best and it hasnt crashed yet. The quality is good but not top notch.
