i have pioneer cd players and a decent mixer and everything is great. sometimes i do wish i would leave beatmatching alone and just concentrate on loops, highs and lows and all the other stuff.

so this is what i want and lemme hear your opinions of what i can do.

i want to hook up my mixers and cd players to my PC. what i really want is to play the music with my cd players, the PC beatmatching the 2 tracks together. i would also like to create loops with the PC. though i still want to use my hardware mixer to control the EQ, volume and stuff like that.

i would also like to cue it digitally so the track can play exactly at the moment i want without even needing of pitchbend.

after writing this, i feel this is a stupid setup to use everyday but i would really like to use this setup once im going to school fulltime. less time to beatmatch and more time for trackselection, flow, and crazy effects and stuff like that.

i think atm do what you think is right and practice alot. find ways for yourself (read stuff etc.) to be able to do this. not everyone has the answer, you got to answer for yourself sometimes. i will read the question again and see what i can suggest.

dude there is no way atm you can interface that setup with what you got.
why dont you go and program a software interface that can do this.
i suggest a possible option of ableton, maybe even use two laptops with it and try and sync them both together, but i dont think that its possible you will just have to beatmatch.

that brings me to my next question, you need to dramticaly improve your beatmatching and you your ear training. seems your spending to long beatmatching. trust me it a picece of cake when you get good.
you should be able to release on your cue and beat match on the fly or ride the pitch.

i actually have my computer using tracktor and doing loops fx and stuff but i just beatmatch that with the signals coming from my turntables, then just blend them together with the mixer channels. you will have to find other ways of adapting ways for you to get things like your setup you want.

no offense, but if you don't even want to learn how to beatmatch then you don't deserve the gear you have and you should give it to someone with real desire.

i do know how to beatmatch, but honestly the only problem im having currently is that im still not that used to the pioneer cd i recently got.

i just wanted to save the minute of my time and invest some other way. plus i totally want to focus on fx, looping, EQ, sound transitions instead of pitch bending a bit every once a while when im mixing.

p.s. how many percent of the songs you mix beatmatch perfectly without the need of pitch bending once a while?

listin to an eddie halliwell set, he does what you want to do without the aid of computers, my personal opinion is that you can only show your real skill if you preform live without the aid of apelton and far more pleasure also

if you find you need to pitch bend every ten seconds (or less) then you are not beatmatching correctly. every time you make a correction you should get closer to the exact spot you need the slider to be. most DJs can concentrate on fx, loops, eqing because their beatmatchin is very tight and under control. you may know how to do it but you need to improve. just my 2p
