computer audio question

My computer at work has begun to play all audio files at a faster rate than the files are recorded. Everything sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks. It is srsly putting a damper on my work days...i am constantly listening to and/or downloading sets while i'm working, but those days have come to a hault. I have tried playing audio through both windows media player and realplayer; i get the same result either way. It must be some type of computer setting or something. I don't know...any help is appreciated.

First off, still no luck on the FAT32 thing, seems like the nfts was way more common

and wow, I have never heard of such a thing...speeding up the pitch on a computer, safest thing i could say is uninstall your soundcard/driver and reinstall it.

Some cards (mainly pro) have a master clock setting and if you have it set to sync an external input, it can cause that. My M-Audio Delta 410 will do that with fb2k.

BTW, nice meeting you NYE.

i never heard such a thing. I would side with pablo here that it would be a driver issue. what type of soundcard do you have? It it's happening with all different types of players then it's the way it's being recorded.

Don't sweat the FAT32, I don't need it all that much. It was just for an SD card.
