Detroit Electronic Fest changing hands?

Read 'em and weep - Saunderson is officially out for this years festival and here's hoping the local promoters get it or we're out the festival this year - my favorite weekend in Detroit.

Lame, I hope this event can still come together; they have been some rockin' weekends!

I remember the year before last when he stopped the DJ, got on the mic in the underground stage, and said something along the lines of "Buy these fucking festival schedule pamphlets, I spent thousands of dollars to print them and if I lose all my money, there won't be a Movement next year!"

Plus where will all the hobos get their free promotional M&M Amazing bars from next year?

I'm sad I missed the years where DEMF was an all out party! The past couple years it has been okay. My favorite highlight would be Richie last year in the underground. I'm currently doing research on visiting Barcelona and they have at least one yearly festival focusing on electronic music called Sonar. It is really a shame to see Detroit go out like this because the city does have such noteriety around the world. First the zoo and now this? I know that there are a lot of people with money out there, I am for sure not one of them, but if I was, I would be thinking about the city I live in and how fun a real DEMF can be when you aren't worrying about how to get the money, but instead worrying about where the 5th stage is going to go, or how are you going to fit all the djs into only 3 days, or how are you going to keep the sound down so it doesn't disrupt people living in Windsor. I don't know if this is going to be fixed. I don't know if it should be, but I do know that there are a lot of music fans in this city that will be extremely dissapointed to see it go.
